This chocolate pullet is split to mottled. I have a chocolate rooster over black, black split to mottled, and mottled hens. So, all the chocolate chicks are pullets and about half are solid chocolate and half split to mottled. Being "split" means she will carry one copy of the mottling gene, and though she will show signs of carrying the gene she will mostly be visually chocolate. Breed her to other mottled birds or split to mottled birds to get mottled birds with two copies of the mottling gene.
